Typing Invaders: a free typing game online
Words fall toward your shield, and typing them shoots them down. The first letter you type locks your turret onto the lowest matching word, and every correct letter after that fires. Waves get faster, end in a boss word, and drop power-ups along the way.
How to play
- Start typing — the first letter locks onto a falling word that begins with it.
- Finish the word to destroy it. A typo is refused rather than wiping what you typed, but it breaks your combo.
- Words marked ★ blow up everything on screen, ❄ slows the wave for five seconds, and ♥ repairs your shield.
- Three hits on the shield and the city falls.

Scoring

It is a typing game rather than a formal test, but it shows your words per minute as you play, so it is a fun way to practise speed and accuracy.
What is a good typing speed?
Around 40 words per minute is typical for everyday typing, and 60–80 is fast. With practice, many programmers and gamers go well beyond that.
